Re: Racial Building Materials
Might make it, in future iterations, instead of giving people enough to build 1 building that anybody can build level 1 buildings without resources. You need the resources to build above level 1. So, any village can build an earthen berm or something like that, but need to source a quarry and lumber...

Re: Law Holdings
You can certainly interpret it that way. I do not. I think law claim need to be normalized. They help to address a lot of the problems with the game (temples and especially guilders having too much money relative to landed regents) and they help to create more unpredictability in income, which I con...

Re: Law Holdings
That's the norm problem I was pointing to. I strongly disagree that they are shakedowns. They're a normal part of taxation. That people view them as shakedowns is why (some) law regents are reluctant to use them. As law regent, I have always law claimed everyone and everything in range as a normal p...

Re: Law Holdings
Yep. 50% of province income. Regent A gets 50% of their side of the value, regent B gets 50% of their side of the value. Assuming the two provinces were the same sized and ran by different regents, regent A would get 25% of the value, regent B would get 25% of the value, and guilder A would get 50% ...

Re: Law Holdings
Law holdings influence how much you can take in claims (Higher law = probably bigger take) and trade route taxes. Letting one domain dominate your temples or guilds is a suboptimal strategy for law regents. Allowing monopolies gives too much power to the temple or the guild. Ideally, you want to hav...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
I know many if not most of the names on there because I have discovered the domains and have interacted with their regents. I, again, think it's fine and helps to capture the low-information style of the game.

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
I think it should be part of the problem. If you don't know the name of the provinces on your map, it's because you didn't discover them. Someone gave you a map and told you that things are there. So, either the person who gave you the map needs to tell you what the province names are, or you still ...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
Clarification 1) Bloodline inherited ability is the first ability gained by any child, so if you eg took longlife chosen, your kid will get it at maturity assuming they have a bloodline. 2) Stats follow domain; so your kids DO NOT get the d6/d4/etc, until they are the regent. They however did benef...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
I thought pillaging it down to 0 was the most unappealing :) No GB/RP generation for a season (to include no trade in/out) seems like a great response for those lacking (or not wanting to use) Bless Land. I said we wanted to make it unappealing (though, my suggestion was to kill trade routes, not j...
