Re: 2x treasure farming
For this particular game, at least some events could be aligned with the planet or life entities. Helping an event fail rather than be successfully resolved could be a way to influence the balance of power between the two entities. The Underground/Undead event, for example, could be the planet-force...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
And I'm over here talking about how much more I like the game without the news. I like how everything has to travel by word of mouth between the regents.

Re: Law Holdings
I think it would be an interesting change, especially if there was a stable gateway in the starting province.
And, you're right, MM -- which is why there would likely be a huge struggle over the province. That's not a bad thing, though. It's just a different kind of story.

Re: Law Holdings
If someone is an official state church or guild, one can reasonably assume they're more closely tied to the regent than ones that aren't. I'm not sure how it works if there's no official relationship, though -- for example, in a province 5 with a guild 3 and a guild 2, I don't know that it's automat...

Re: Law Holdings
I get what you are sayıng -- you're talking about raising three levies from a level 3 province AND THEN levying the province.

Re: Law Holdings
I was under the impression that you could only raise 3 levies from a level 3 province per turn. In your example, you'd need six levels of provinces to levy six free units. I kind of like the idea. I'd tie it to level rather than law, though. Like level or level/2 or something like that. Pure fighter...

Re: Law Holdings
It's a better mechanic because I would rather redistribute existing in-game wealth rather than introduce a new source of in-game wealth. To me, contestation represents active interference. By allowing law holdings to contest or interact with any other kind of holding (save sources), you give them an...

Re: Law Holdings
Clearly, I think it's better as a routine GB sharing mechanic. But, just because something is normalized doesn't mean it's not a source of tension and conflict. Taxing corporations is a normalized behavior irl. It doesn't mean corporations like it and that there isn't conflict over it.

Re: Law Holdings
Guilders have too much income as ship maintenance has been reduced to 0 for coasters. Gold cannot be used to bid on actions (other then espionage) Landed Regents have had the ability to collect severe taxes restricted, to occasional or single province only. So if they are out of balance, perhaps th...

Re: Racial Building Materials
That's a fair response. I do like opportunity costs.
