Re: Topic: Of Buildings
If each regent can only have one building from the class building categories (and can choose whichever one suits them best), I think those would naturally define the character of a realm. None of them would ever be generic.

Re: Topic: Armies too large
It's less that levies get a bonus in their own lands and more that there's a penalty if they go anywhere else--the province's loyalty drops. I don't think defenders need an extra benefit, they already have terrain bonuses, fortifications, reduced costs and avoid attrition. Being able to levy high-qu...

Re: Fluff Discussions about what was going on
Ha ha, I never directly caused problems for anyone . All my actions in the entire game were either in my own provinces or adjacent ones, and those I took in adjacent ones were never hostile, except for the ones directed against Daene and Arawn south of my border. I never took offensive actions again...

Re: Topic: Armies too large
Was working on varsks as a counter-unit, but that doesn't work too well as a standard thing. We could keep the undead under control by limiting the corpse supply more, like by making it so there's none free to start with, and so the only way to collect more is raiding and pillaging, not simply winni...

Re: End of Game / Next Game?
There's still room for competition, even if there's an outside threat. Especially if the outside threat is impossible to destroy, at first, since that makes competition between those who are weathering the storm inevitable. I do like the idea of a threat that's more of a regular nuisance than a cree...

Topic: Of Buildings
Compiling/suggesting ideas for new buildings rules. Idea for more buildings to be unique; one per player. A shipyard, a muster field, a holy place, or a sacred grove. While each is associated with a class, there doesn't seem to be any particular reason to restrict ownership by class. They already ar...

Re: Topic: Armies too large
That only works if the premise of the game is that we're all thralls to some lord from the start. I don't know what could explain that, and it seems to severely limit the potential character concepts available for play... unless this lord is some sort of fey or alien being from the shadow or beyond....

Re: Topic: Armies too large
If army size is capped by 'force pool' instead of by practical concerns (like the cost to build and maintain one, or the relative utility of doing so), there's little point in building a character (or faith) designed to make a large army more manageable, and a much stronger incentive to optimize the...

Re: Topic: Armies too large
A direct way to reduce the amount of gold available would be to have random raids conducted on us by NPCs we can't fight at the beginning of the game. They could be progressively replaced with other threats, perhaps including an awnshegh or emperor who might demand tribute once we get their attentio...
