Re: Topic: Demi Humans too good
If all races can multi-class, what about the class restrictions? Humans are the only race with access to all classes, and the only race who can be paladins. Except for half-elves, every other race is barred from at least two classes. This seems like it might stack things too much in favour of humans...

Re: Topic: Armies too large
Making the limiting factor on how large armies can be the number of actions needed to train them doesn't make sense to me, even if it is balanced between characters... I don't think there's ever been a historical war where average training time was what decided who won.

Re: End of Game / Next Game?
We didn't have glacier, tundra, and desert terrains in this game, but they have low maximum province levels for every race. A setting dominated by these terrain types would have more and smaller-scale wars, and of a very different character. If they outnumbered the more comfortable provinces by enou...

Re: Topic: Demi Humans too good
Having each action have its own season is a cool idea, though it'd dramatically change how wars play out.

Re: Topic: Armies too large
I'd favour eliminating training points (and non-special buildings) entirely, and instead just limiting musters by the number of province levels. So someone (or an alliance) with 10 province levels can only raise 10 units (5 tier 3s, 1 tier 5s, or whatever) in a single turn, to keep things sane... no...

Re: Topic: Armies too large
It's not unrealistic for attrition to become more of a limiting factor than raising the army... in the late game that seems very reasonable. And in the early game, raising six units was hard. An advantage of this 'problem' is that it means wars become more strategic and less about sheer economy. Mus...

Re: End of Game / Next Game?
A smaller area sounds good. This was fun, but the average player interacted with fewer than a third of the other players. For me, the game area was only about twice the size of my realm, the rest was forever in dark fog. Though I don't know what it'd be like if most of the game was 'in the light' fo...

Re: Topic: Demi Humans too good
Mutli-classing works better when the regent density is low. The higher the density, the more likely multi-class characters are to be out-competed by specialists. Diaspora has a very low regent density. Even so, humans haven't been at a disadvantage! Versatility is nice, but specialists are consisten...

Re: Questions
Not directly. Bloodtrait is either a Major or Great ability. Anyone with BS 26 or higher could have either level of it or neither level of it. Its power is unlikely to scale with BS, although since Bloodtrait works in combination with another ability the regent already has, more powerful regents hav...

Re: Questions
Bloodtrait is a major ability. Anyone with a BS of 16 or higher can have it, and yet it's easily possible for someone with BS 32 or 64 to have never, ever rolled it. Even someone with BS 128 potentially might have missed it. So regardless of if it's normal or not, it's possible. There's drawbacks, t...
