Re: Cultue, Traits, and Evolution
Juan can go in another directions, but the conjured heroes would not be undead. They may detect as outsiders, or magical. 3.5 introduced the idea of native outsiders which would be how I envisioned them, summoned from the planes to this prime.

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
You cannot copy anything.
You can learn (from specificified sources)
You can write a spellbook from spells known
you can memorized from YOUR spellbook.

You are bumping into the house rule again.
NB: This refers to spells that can be found on www.purpleworm.org/rules - you will not be creating new spells, or learning spells from other sources.
The only sources for learning spells in this game is specified.

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
I think you are hung up on the concept of "copy" too much.
It will be easier to think of it as preparing/writing a spellbook from spells known. Easy to do over the course of months your character spends ruling their domains.

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
All Sizes and Shapes There is no standard size or shape for a spell book. A player character can't walk into a wizard's lab or study and instantly spot the spell book because it is the biggest, longest, fattest, squarest, roundest, or thinnest book there. Neither can he measure all the books to fin...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
Before you invent such a houserule you should ask yourself how the Lvl1 wizard at start learns a spell if he has no spellbook at all and what will happen, if a wizard will loose his spellbooks and start anew. Instead of inventing again a complex process you just can use the learning check, preparat...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
But my case is: the wizard learn the spell in preparing it from another spellbound and making a Int % check. If he learns it he can cast it which erases the spell from his mind. Or he can write the spell down which will cost a lot and takes 1/2 days per lvl. You can learn a spell from another spell...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
Whenever a wizard discovers instructions for a spell he doesn't know, he can try to read and understand the instructions. The player must roll percentile dice. If the result is equal to or less than the percentage chance to learn a new spell (listed on Table 4), the character understands the spell ...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
IIRC if you fail to learn a spell, you may not attempt that spell again until you have gained a level.

Re: Using "Blood Failure" to enforce Agreements
It's an important mechanic, yes, but it's one the players have zero control over. The DM decides when a breach of a vassalage agreement or other regency failure occurs, and to the extent that anything in the contract is 'just a suggestion', it's a suggestion that is never heard. It's the spirit, no...
