Given the inability to make leylines without source strengthened the ward spell, could weaken it by allowing anyone who possess the ward spell(or any magic user even) to come and go alone, making it slightly easier for a hostile mage to create a source and leyline. Looks more like a pi shaped brownie really. Not what you asked for but still delicious. Worthy of execution or praise?

Mages have it the best again. How about a plague and pirates on sources hmmm? Get them in on the fun. Where did the source plague pirates originate? Don't worry about it, just be slowed down like the rest of us.

Plague bearing pirates/undead would be a fun way to ramp up those events too. Undead that keep roaming spreading the plague rather than seeking to pillage. Pirates plague ships that spread disease if they make it to port, giving you reason to burn them before landfall.

When thinking lepers or so, such a unit could have a fear/"I-don't-want-to-fight-these-and-risk-to-get-affected" effect, but nothing more. Though such units would be complicated to train of course...

One is divine will and punishment (good), the other is witchcraft (evil).
By that logic, you should have a problem with raze or mass destruction as well.

With: Killing multiple units by spreading a plague with a unit that comes running and commits suicide is something else entirely Is there much difference? Besides the fact you would kill the...
