Re: Future game set-up concepts
That was one of the reasons Riva took a trip (not counting my OOC issues I was having to manage at the time). Riva was concerned that he was directly responsible for driving the Islands to conflict, particularly after the Shieldlands debacle. Given what he had seen, staying in the Islands would hav...

Re: Future game set-up concepts
Definitely lost steam for me, shortly after the skirmish between the Hunt and Islands Alliance. We started building up towards a turn 25 clash, we had a focus, only for the one player that drove the alliance to leave. We have been building since, but the passion was lacking.

Re: Future game set-up concepts
I must admit that I haven't really been that engaged in the game for a while, not since maybe around turn 20. I participated in a bit, but has felt quite isolated. The Islands Alliance remain, but the driving force behind the alliance left, the one who maintained diplomatic ties and since then I at ...

Re: Poll: New Game
Wow, so many posts, so much strife. Really wish people, all of them, would tone down their hostilities. Looks like everyone get so argumentative over their points, trying to desperately prove they are right and others are wrong, rather than simply post their opinions on the state of the game and the...

Re: Poll: New Game
Wow, so much hostility between the various players participating in the discussion. I guess I'll add my own thoughts. I picked the option where I was ready to move on, though I still have minor things to resolve. Many of my last turns have been quite uneventful, simply repeating many of the same act...

Re: Cultue, Traits, and Evolution
Maybe we should close this thread. Or at least get back to just discussing what was initially been discussed. Feels like a personal feud between two players.

Re: Cultue, Traits, and Evolution
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-are-we-getting-taller/ People who live in poverty are shorter than those who are well-off. People who live in poverty have more children than those who are well-off. If height was being selected for to this degree, people would be getting shorter as a ...

Re: Cultue, Traits, and Evolution
If a population value certain traits, it does not really take that many generations before they can strengthen those traits. Especially not when these populations don't have much interaction/crossbreeding. Just look at average height, where at least Scandinavia seem to have a bias that taller is bet...

Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
yes, but the person brought back isn't necessarily your friend or ally. They are not your lieutenant if they were someone else's before. They are just back, and make their own choices. Oh, I know that. But figure that if a certain daddy is returned, he might be mightily disappointed in a certain so...
