Yes, and they can also buy the early casting for bards.

How exactly does item theft work? Does the thief need to know that the item they're trying to steal exists/is possessed by the target? Do you just say you're going to steal an item from player X, and then if successful you get a list of their items and can pick one? Do you get a random one? Can you steal multiple items if you exceed the DC by enough? There's very little detail on the actions page.

Gotta know they have it or had it. One item. Espionage action should give a list or partial list depending on success of roll. I think.
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
You have to know they had the item, to steal the item. I am not opposed to making it a blind shot, and I decide the item stolen based on the success.

How sad to end up stealing a potion.

Could work well if you stole a healing potion right when they were in the middle of an adventure, though.
Especially if you did it by swapping it out.

I love the new Apollyon event. I can't be the only one who could already qualify for like half of these ... I imagine initiative will be important here.
1) do you still have to use a seek LT action if you're banishing them? It's just a ... banish LT instead?
2) if you have a LT who meets the criteria, can you have them do it?

Juan will need to confirm but my intention was:
Random historical figure appears is random events.
These events are resolved like any Great Captain event.
If failed: normal consequences
If succeed: Gain the Great figure as a recruitable candidate
Meet the pre-req? yes. Use a seek LT action to acquire
else
Banish the character forever (gain a thematic reward)
Dismiss them, they return to a hidden pool of candidates. Someone else may appear, or they may reoccur later if you want a second chance.

New Plan, since yes, they may be too easily acquired by people this way.
They will show up in Great Captain events, out of that list posted, randomly. A few per turn. Initiative will matter, of course.
