Questions - Diaspora IV
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
The program will fail any land trade route that is not connect by a roadway, I don't think it will let it even work.

If you aim to add a bastard child, do I roll a character up to serve as the second parent, or count my regent twice(minus the bloodline) or how do I do that?

I have used the default array to pick the other parent's stats in the past.Mae - Maedhros wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:49 pmIf you aim to add a bastard child, do you roll a character up to serve as the second parent, or count your regent twice(minus the bloodline) or how do you make that?

That's a good idea.
Turn to Avani before you return to Avani

How does one acquire resources (such as Wood, Stone, etc...)? A Resource Extraction Building <Mine>? And if so, how do you get the resources to build the mine?

Wood -> Forest province (you have plenty I guess)
Stone -> Low/High Mountains
(see here and check the 'Race and Terrain Details' section)

Each province provides unlimited units of its basic resource (wood, stone, grain, or iron) to itself. With a trade route, it will provide the same to the province on the other end of the route. With a trade -chain- you can provide resources to each stop on the chain, depending on the level of the rogue operating it. Not tradeable, but raidable.
Advanced materials are fungible like GB, you build mines with the basic resources to get the advanced yields.

Each province generates a type of basic resource, which is available in that province. Plains generate grain, forests wood, hills can be iron or grain, low mountains can be stone or iron, high mountains are also iron or stone.BS - Sojak wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 4:07 pmHow does one acquire resources (such as Wood, Stone, etc...)? Trade routes make resources available to other provinces.
There are also "advanced resources," like saltpeter, steel, etc. These are what require a mine to extract. They can be used for later-game research projects and units and such.

Buildings need stone and wood to be constructed. To sustain a lvl 4 province you need a grainary and grain supplied through trade or in the province itselv. Wood, grain and Iron is needed for some units. Ships do need wood.
