Plague bearing pirates/undead would be a fun way to ramp up those events too. Undead that keep roaming spreading the plague rather than seeking to pillage. Pirates plague ships that spread disease if they make it to port, giving you reason to burn them before landfall.

Turning the game into survival against Random Events. More dangerous than the players. Pirates and undead EACH coming in numbers worse than Mishrak with no economic base to rationalize their creation or to strike at to remove as a threat. More undead units makes more sense than more pirates as the cost to create and maintain undead is far less then all that goes into bringing 5 ships and 5 tier 3 units repeatedly and in multiple groups against us. I just don't like the idea of a random pirate generator popping out perpetual loads of pirates with nothing behind their creation.

The pirates are one of this world's natural forces. By fighting the pirates, we are allowing ninjas to proliferate without fear of their natural predators. Unfortunately, ninjas are too stealthy to appear as random events, so the threat is being neglected.

Mages have it the best again. How about a plague and pirates on sources hmmm? Get them in on the fun. Where did the source plague pirates originate? Don't worry about it, just be slowed down like the rest of us.
