Here from chapter 7 Dungeon master guide: acquisition of spells: Copying from Spell Books

The second way to acquire new spells is to copy them from the spell books of other wizards. A character can copy from other player characters (if they will allow it), pay NPC wizards for the privilege (see Chapter 12 : NPCs), or take them from captured spell books. When copying spells, a character must roll to see if the character can learn the spell. No character can copy without magical aid of a spell of a level he cannot cast.
This is from the PHB, read the entire source and quit cherry picking the piece you want to emphasize.

"When your character attains a new level, he may or may not receive new spells. This is up to your DM. He may allow your character to return to his mentor (provided he departed on good terms!) and add a few spells to his book. It may be possible for your character to copy spells from the spell book of another player character (with his permission, of course). Or he may have to wait until he can find a spell book with new spells. How he gets his spells is one of the things your DM decides."

Key line is last one. Which leads back to what we have all been telling you and has already been listed i. The Wizard rules thread for six+ campaigns now.

Level up. Use a domain action. Use a library as a free action.

That's it.

You cannot copy anything.

You can learn (from specificified sources)

You can write a spellbook from spells known

you can memorized from YOUR spellbook.

Why you writing something like this-go back and you will see, that I referenced exactly the same already and asked Juan to formulate exact what his house rule is regarding this.

You are bumping into the house rule again.

NB: This refers to spells that can be found on www.purpleworm.org/rules - you will not be creating new spells, or learning spells from other sources.

The only sources for learning spells in this game is specified.

or learning spells from other SOURCE(books) is the understanding here... otherwise the sentence should be clarified.

Wizard Rules:
Gaining Normal Spells:
@leveling: Wizards gain 2 spells + 1 spell if they have a specialization (must be taken from said specialization)
Wizards start with 8 spells at level 1 + 2 from their chosen specialization.

Researching (Non-Realm) Spells:
Access to a library allows you to learn 2 new spells-levels per library level (eg, 2 level 1 spells, or 1 level 2 spell) as a Free Action, once per turn.
Alternatively, you may spend a domain action to learn 2 new spells, or 2x (Library+1) spells (of any level).

NB: This refers to spells that can be found on www.purpleworm.org/rules - you will not be creating new spells, or learning spells from other sources. Note: You can learn spells from BR specific source books, as well.

----

Dude, the text is absolutely crystal clear.

You can't research any spell other than those from BR books and from purpleworm.

Learning a spell equals researching it.

To research a spell you need a library (free action), spend lots of time (domain action), or gain experience (level up).

That's it. It's not rocket science. It doesn't need 10 pages. Juan has concisely stated this several times. It's been posted for multiple campaigns. It's very simple.

Level up. Library. Domain action.

I don't really understand what you are debating. Either you just cannot, or if you could in theory, it still takes 1-2 days of uninterrupted time to add a spell to your spell book, and you are not doing that on an adventure.

But for ease of not trying to abuse things:
You cannot learn spells the way you are trying to do.

The only ways to learn spells for wizards:
levelling up, Library passively, Domain Action.

Elemental Child: A child is born to you, seemingly with no partner. Whether it springs fully formed from your head (Zeus-style), or simply appears in your life as some sort of elemental empowered being, the child is most certainly of you as well. Child is a young teen (Human 12, equivalent for other races) and counts towards objective of having a child reach 5 if not complete to date (not impacted by Gaian modifiers, rolls with your stats and a second parent of all stat-12s, bloodline score is average of yours and 7, of your derivation). Race can be any.

Was this blessing able to be refused? Or was this mandatory?

You don't have to keep the elemental being, but it exists
