Questions - Diaspora IV
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
You cannot contingency not explore, but you can say if Type X do at DC0, if type Y DC1
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
Some ppl have found water, so exploring water is a valid occurence. You will know it is water once youve made an attempt, and if dont resolve you can opt to juat go in another direction.

Pfft...try being on an island...not that I am or anything...Ma - Mag wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 6:36 amNow where is the fun in that?MM - Maro Mithrilhand wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 4:28 amJuan if we are at the border of the map or at an sea zone and explore in that direction could you make us explore the closest province that is available instead? Otherwise this is a big handycap for players placed at the sides or sea zones.
But unless no-one really has encountered such obstacles already, it would be unfair to change, no?
Related question, am I correct in assuming there is no way to know what type the explore-adventure is before actually starting it? Or can I use an contingency go explore south, if it's Hunt adventure, scout east instead?

If your on an island with 3 sea zones you might have to do 3 explorations before you hit another province if there is any at all. That would be the worst start ever I guess.
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
There is no island that is 3 provinces away from another. But there are almost certainly islands adjacent to 3 sea zones...

But is that not a huge handicap for if a player to starts on an island? You have to build a longship firsts before you can settle on other islands or the mainland.

No, you can settle across waterways without a naval unit. You just cannot move military units. Settlers can raft across, hah.
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
Think about it the other way too, it is basically impossible to invade a person on islands, until later in the game.
