The assassin-ee still has two defenses: win the fight when it comes, or don't get on the battlefield.AP - Apiskopalny Piekielne wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 9:54 amAssassination has been used for that purpose. Having the support of local Law and Guild is quite the swing, and makes the attempt reasonable. Counter-espionage pool would still need to apply or there would be no mechanical defence against an assassin.
Last Game Stepan assassinated the LTs of invaders of his domain.

The problem is the target of an assination has armies of men with them. If you use an assassination you get the target in a one on one fight.
The bid towards the assassination amounts to diverting the targets protections away, and giving time to prepare for the fight. The target should absolutely get their pool to ensure their guards don't get pulled.
Same idea for sabotage unit. Why wouldn't you get to bid against the enemy walking into camp and putting poison in the stew pots of your warcamp? No different then if that infiltrator is carrying a garrote and headed to the captains tent instead.

You still get your counter pool. The big swing is the location is favorable to the attacker instead of the defender, potentially. You still have "camp guards" or any other number of defensive parameters contemplated by the counter-espionage pool.
Re: Questions - Diaspora IV
You can change orders at the end of any war move. Each war move is 3 rounds of combat. So if at the end of a warmove, you think you are losing, you can withdraw your army. Or you can choose to just withdraw your leadership-unit and leave the peons to fight on.

Shouldent LT´s be around to in that situation? If they are part of the war adventure I mean.
Could make it an option to have your war adventure look the enemy ones up. "defender" can choose to fight or withdraw from the battle, having no benefit from their war adventure, while the other side can proceed to kill regular troops.

Functionally, that is now how assassination attempts work. But you can include them in the counter-espionage pool effect, they give the PC earlier warning of something coming/whatever.

Can we negative explore our own provinces to make it harder for people to reveal the province?

I like that idea. You set up traps, make it hard to explore to find anything, haha.
You cannot successfully explore a province under Feign Destruction or Wards, either.

Who here has noticed that you can declare war in winter in this game? I cant find any post that said the rules have changed. Found one post where Juan said maybee 60% attrition in winter and possible declare war but thats it. This change of rule is realy something that should be anounced as it can screw over a whole defense plan. The rules now are:
Winter Battles & Movement:
There is no restriction on Winter warfare, however note the above attrition check penalties.
