It took a really long time and a lot of work for Daene to try and bring back the Masetians.

Yup. Can indeed try to breed some half-rjuriks, and try to genetically breed them true, again, not happening in any sort of short span of time. Mix them with some Khinasi, or something, set them up in a way to recreate their cultural heritage, and you could pseudo-create the Rjurik, even with some genetic materials of their race.

Haha, that was Daene's project? Namel just had 'Masetians' straight from the Isle of the Serpent, and she and her heir were going to build a city for them if Daene didn't keep getting in the way. But then, Namel's wasn't interesting in a breeding project, hers was more of a conservation effort. And her heir was a Khinasi nationalist who believed in taking the best traits of the Masetians and Basarji to create a better culture than either.

I may have been unclear: what I meant was, "these are two separate groups of people for whom I think it's an open question if they are able to procreate," not to suggest that the Raven Queen's ability could be used to Return the Apollyon Echoes.

It is also an open question, for me so far, whether the Heroes or Returned will register as "Life," or be more like some sort of undead, or what ...
