That is a better alternative. But if you did not build your shrine the first rounds you should be allowed to have the shrine be build now with the amount of rolls if you had the RP.

Don't forget to look at the holding requirements of the spells at well.. there is a substantial difference between wizards and priests

Plague: Automatic death check for everyone who has their capital in a plagued province. NB: Plagued provinces cannot be ruled/settled in turn of a plague. Unless province blessed, plague doesn't go away.
So no province loss involved :D

Just move your capital and you're fine ;)

I am pretty sure you loose a province lvl in the random event unless you cast bless. Juan did that earlier if I remember correctly

Doesn't that make Bless a little OP? And income increase and auto-dispel plague spell and solution for an event? And all that with a lvl 1 holding..

vs the mage that needs access to necromantic spells, a level 5 source and probably a source in the province itself and a leyline..

The problem is that if you remove bless and pop growth as options you dont have much realm spells left that can compare to what a wiz can do. Instead of nerfing the few good spells the priest has we should see how to make the priest more versatile.

I don't think priests were necessarily unbalanced. Allowing faith builds that aren't balanced from a role-playing aspect is the primary issue.

I don't see a rush by everyone to play priests which is usually the sign the class is broken.

Agreed. I personally disliked how bless land and pop growth being so good meant I only had 3 actions per season to really "play" with, and zero actions in summer. Add in the random events, and many of my turns were largely done for me.

Making the spells less powerful is a knee-jerk reaction which just makes priest an even less attractive option. Would love to see the power of priest not tied to an action tax but not sure how we would do that to be honest.

Didn't say that :P

But some of the spells might be, and that is actually in detriment of the class. As is, you're kinda obliged to cast Bless each turn, not?

An option would be to make it last longer.. but less powerful?

And have a cure plague spell to deal with the other stuff?
