Weak summers, means a full 3 turns of wars, warmongers are less likely to have to rush a spring campaign. Equal odds of each outcome?

Also makes wide realms a bit better (if that is a consideration), not that it would have impacted my early decisions if known.

Agreed on wider realms being moderately better. Better for maybe 1 Weak Summer - once everything is Province 2 would no longer matter. Makes War easier to engage in. Overall I think it is reasonable.

Yeah, would be 1d3 between those options.

If there is interest in making more complex seasons could consider also:

Mild Winter: Attrition reduced to 40% outside friendly provinces (one check only) making winter war a possibility. Maybe only occurs as an early indicator of next turn being spring.

Severe winter: Garrison limit is reduced. Actions not normally limited by court is, and/or court range reduced (makes fortification a little more desireable too)

Late Spring/Early winter: 1-2 actions at start/end of year are considered winter. (Those war campaigns so carefully drawn up to start on the buzzer, are fouled by weather)

For weak summers I suggest something different.
+5DC (or +10DC) to rule province.
Raising settlers could produce half province level rounded down settlers for the normal full price.

I like that idea, especially if the penalty lines up roughly with the normal benefits of population growth.

I like the DC boost for a weak summer.

The variants BSB proposed for the winters/spring/fall would be interesting as well.

+1 to dc change as opposed to only raising settlers
