Ignoring events is also supposed to cause minor blood loss. I don't believe that has ever been enforced.

Hmm, the exact wording is 'failure to respond'. I assume ignoring it is fine so long as the problem does go away on its own, but even attending to it doesn't help if the regent just makes it worse.

It has never been enforced. It is meant to be if an event triggers with failed result. But it seems bad enough that these events actually do bad things if ignored, that it doesn't really seem required anymore.

Should probably remove it then :)

Particularly since we can work to make events worse for each other...seems to have it's own penalty.

I kinda think the same about losing holdings and provinces. Its bad enough allready.

Breaking a treaty etc or alignment shift, should surely be enforced though.

But if there's no bloodline score penalty for those losses, what motivation is there to surrender?

Let's assume they want you to give up everything you own, that's pretty common. If you only have one province, there's nothing to discourage you from clinging on to it to the end if there's no regency loss for being obstinate. Instead of it being a case of 'honour before reason' to refuse to submit, then, it would just be standard procedure to fight to the end.

The threat of regency loss makes sure that someone who's about to suffer it has reason to think twice before saying 'do your worst'. Not that their answer is likely to be any different, but it's the thought that counts.

Having a strong bloodline and no domain (because you let it get torn to pieces) is cold comfort... it's not really going to help you get back on your feet. It also doesn't make much story sense.

The point indeed was to promote settlements. The problem generally hasn't just been the winning side demanding everything, it has usually been the losing side refusing to concede anything at all.

Perhaps, it's just me, but bloodline loss has never been a factor in any of my decisions. Alignment and other factors predominate.
