Perhaps Dwarven/Orog mushroom ability should not be a tradable resource (like the foresters 'grain'). Hills produce grain not stone as an alternate, so it would make sense for dwarves to want those provinces. Also with mushrooms being an racial food it doesnt make sense to be tradeable it to other cultures.

With the karamhul realms so well organized prior to the communication blackout, this change should impact them too much this game.

The mushroom caves were certainly not intended to be tradable to non mountain people... and they do not count as grain for unit training either. The intent was they were usable by dwarves/orogs via trade routes so that their secondary provs (low mountain) could also get foodstuff.
