Will there still be an option to abort the mission on a fail by 15 or less? If you know that you stand no chance if you can't win initiative, for example.

Looks good but shouldn't there be a maximum for how many rounds of prep the assassin gets regardless of how much they win by? There are a lot of really good spells. Also should clarify if LTs can cast on you or not.

No. There is no chance to abort the mission. No, LTs are not involved. It is 1 v 1

I have always put in a contingency action to escape if someone tries to assassinate my character. I have never been sure how that would work.

How were those assassinations targetting spellcasters handled in the most recent unseelie attack?

Bigger question, how are people consistently performing assassinations? Mechanically speaking at the character level I am a complete noob, so having this tool in my toolbox next campaign would be very helpful for achieving parity with other players. Class/build/items/tactics?

If going after spellcasters I recommend leading with something which prevents wraithform (somatic). Silence is fun, but have to prevent the escape (achieved with innate erinyes charm ability on Albion).

Without spells it is difficult to escape. Either kill or be killed really.

I was talking about:

Espionage - Escape Capture
Base Cost: 1GB
DC 15+
Modified by your bonuses to espionage (province), and modded against it by the holder's resistance to espionage (province).
No penalties for distance/culture, language. No bonus for holdings in any province.

Although before it just said escape.

Clay had some decent spells... Including invis, charm, illusions.

Well first you gotta be pretty sure you can take the target in a 1 on 1 fight. Then you gotta spend enough RP to beat the DC and more on top of that to hope you get past any possible defense pool RP. Then you are right there on top of them and the fight starts. Then you gotta kill em fast enough that they don't get away.

I think that is for if you are captured in war.
