Blooding LTs

3 options:

1) you cannot
2) It costs you 1 bloodline point to grant them a bloodline point
3) You can blood X LTs, where X = 1/8 of your bloodline score

I lean towards 2. Also, it takes an investiture action.

So if you first have 1 LT that is blooded, and he has 1 bloodpoint, can you spent 2 RP to increase his bloodline and give that to someone else with an investiture?

Sort of. You'd need to do an investiture to give him the RP, but yes, you can. Which is a fairly obvious and problematic potential loophole, of course.

Honestly, I prefer 1. I think the wholesale creation of bloodlines should be very difficult. Maybe more difficult than 2. I also like the idea of limiting it with 3, if we're going to have it.

So presuming option 2:

A person with bloodline 4 gives a LT a bloodline of 1.
A person with bloodline 14 gives a LT a bloodline of 1.
A person with bloodline 35 gives a LT a bloodline of 1.

Seems slightly off. Would it be better the bloodpoint is given up and can invest 1 Blood to original bloodline score divided by 5 or something (rounded down but a minimum of 1)?

So someone with bloodline 16 (current starting) could lose a bloodpoint and blood 3 lts (=rounddown(16/5)) = 3?

Does not seem correct if no matter how strong your bloodline is it costs you a full blood point to give an LT a blood point worth 1 RP.

How about restricting it that every person can only get or give a bloodline once each investiture so you cant mass produce Blooded people.

There should be a mechanism. It's what drives people to bust their butts for regents in the hopes they eventually are rewarded with titles, lands, blood.

It should be difficult to minimize overutilization.

It should not be so difficult as to be silly though.

The equation provided does a lot to mitigate abuse. If you presumably burn off a pt and blood 3 LTs right off, each has a bloodline of 1. Should they later be given 2 RP to raise their bloodline to 2, each of them could at most give one other person a bloodpoint (and at the cost of an action).

Now this could be abused still come every winterfest ---- so MkII version would be you can only do it once per 10 bloodline points and can't do it if bloodline is less than 5?

Without Blood Burning. Is number 2 even an issue?

Payoff is random.

Even when doing the Loophole it costs an action + lt action to create the new lieutenant.

I always thought of it as why bloodline don't continuously grow and grow. You invest in good people, and divide whats left to multiple heirs.

If it needs to be capped: Tieing it to Bloodline Strength might be a way to do it.

A bloodline can support a number of cadet branches based on tainted through Great.

With Bloodtheft, Last of a bloodline, gets some meaning again. If tracked would make an interesting family tree of bloodlines.
