Speaking as one of the little realms surrounded by an opening alliance, I have to admit that I am rather concerned about things here. I know I've had to alter my plans for things signifigantly from where I was when I first started.
I am in the same boat.

I was the one that asked the question about when we could contact others in game. The DM stated to be fair wait for the end of the first round of placement.

If contacted I would have tried to join the group. Most messaged were not returned until the end of round 2. There is a fundamental unfairness about it... However, I do believe that annoyance cause the plan to backfire when the other alliances grow larger and push back.

I think we should treat BR like a living world and not as separated games. BannonCole is a God because of things happened 260 years ago.
Some people live longer like Karambul and sidhelin and of course remember who’s families helped them and are even intermarried with them. Try to get your own network going and be fair and have peace - then you will have family andpeople still living from this period of game. And they will of course prefer you then because of their ties to you and your family...

Sidhelien (or at least, the regular non-lawful sort of Sidhelien) probably aren't going to treat someone differently based on who their ancestors were. Sea Sidhe and dwarves sure will, though, and for human nobles it can be extreme, to the point where they have to fight to not be seen as an avatar of their dynasty. So, yeah, sometimes those ties should apply, sometimes they shouldn't.

If it were more common for players to play descendants of other players' characters (and not of their own), it might work better. If there's no examples of members of a dynasty who aren't played by the same player as their ancestor, it's too easy to get in a rut of assuming everyone from that line is the same, even when the player is deliberately avoiding that.

I'm pretty sure if those two were coordinating for team optimization purposes, they wouldn't have created a priest of Arawn and a priest of something other than Arawn... yeah.

The Cubists have to audit your thetans before you can be added to the forum.

I wonder if they will start recruiting famous Bards to be poster boys for their religion. Therry Cruise is getting famous up in Safe Harbour.

I don't know how you all got access to the Level 5 secrets of Cubism but I'm very upset about it!
