Expanding Summoning
Re: Expanding Summoning
14 Gnoll Irregulars vs 3 Stonecrown Ogres
#1: 5 Gnolls survive
#2: 7 Gnolls survive
#3: 8 Gnolls survive
14 Gnoll Irregulars vs 4 Ogres:
#1: 4 Gnolls survive
#2: 8 Gnolls survive
#3: 3 Gnolls survive
Conclusion: need to re-balance buy rate.
Gnoll Irregs -> 3 Summon Pts, Orogs -> 5 Summon Pts, Ogres ->8 Pts
At level 9:
2 Stonecrown Ogres (16/18pts)
6 Gnoll Irregulars (18/18pts)
#1: 1 Gnoll survives
#2: 1 Ogre survives
#3: 3 Gnolls, 1 Ogre survives (Gnolls routed)
#4: 1 Ogre Survives
Small sample size, obviously, but seems more balanced.

Re: Expanding Summoning
The intent of a spell is it gets more potent and efficient as it goes up in power. The crappy low level summoner has to have hordes of goblins and irregulars, the mediocre summoner is able to pull in a smaller but better trained group. The great summoner brings in the big guns, few in number, but devastating in effect.

Re: Expanding Summoning
Even if the gnolls can beat the ogres in a direct versus, I figure the ogres better at destroying enemies with high defense than a gnoll swarm. On the other hand, the gnolls are probably better at taking hits, just by sheer volume...

Re: Expanding Summoning
I tweaked the cost slightly, to make more units cost more than smaller number of better units, not as absurdly split as originally, but to weigh it slightly in Ogres favour.

Re: Expanding Summoning
Also, ogres are by far cheaper!. Raise so many gnolls will take 3 actions and heaps of gold and influence. Raise 4 ogres takes 2..,).

I could be wrong but you might need to read this whole thread more carefully.THT - Therry H Taelhas wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 11:00 amAlso, ogres are by far cheaper!. Raise so many gnolls will take 3 actions and heaps of gold and influence. Raise 4 ogres takes 2..,).

Wow a lot of war. Did the new summons take effect? And is that where all the Gnolls came from?

You tell us. You are the greatest Wizard in the Bay. I suspect the Don is just a cartoon illusion you conjured in a dream when the magma boiled too loudly during your nap time.

I have a fear you're not going to get mentioned, yet again, by those imperial scribes!Py - Pyroneous wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 7:50 pmI’m great on adventures. Takes GB to play on the world scene.
