I think this part is covered in the tables with the saving throws. If you compare the saving throw vs spells between warriors and wizards, the first starts at 19 and the second at 12.

In later editions, they don't have huge bonuses to resistance...

Last game, Khonceys had the dwarven saving throw bonus (from the Belt of Dwarvenkind) in addition to being a wizard, so during the one main adventure, her save versus spells was, like... 6.

personally, I prefer it with dwarfs being unable to use arcane and sidhe unable to be divine spellcasters... but ofcourse, thats a change that needs to heppend between games, not during. And I doubt I get a majority with me on that anyway

I think the fair call on this is those dwarves who can use magic lose their bonus at a rate equal to their mage level. Represents the stronger they grow in magic the less resistant they are.

Those who aren't casters lose nothing.

Allows for those who want to do the Karamuhl arcane and keeps it balanced.

I have always been for Dwarven arcane casters. While don't prefer it, don't have a problem with losing the magic resistance.
