Also, yes - Goblins were (re)created by Rhyel.
Orogs, allegedly, were rebirthed via Summoning Magic in Diaspora I, some say they had died out. Others speculated they were simply hiding deep in the mountains, and the summoning magic brought them out of their hiding, into the known world.

Agreed, it's still the ancient language. I was trying to indicate an example along the lines of:

if I speak Spanish, travel back in time 2000 years to Australia, even though Latin is the precursor -- even if I already knew Latin it would be unlikely to be something I came across. Then again, it could be I'm in Greece instead and while not the lingua Franca, Latin would be a recognized language and something I could communicate with some of the locals potentially.



Everything said, until we run into ancient people it could be either scenario or something else entirely as well.
