Super interesting that the majority of Great Captains have been recruited by races without resource advantages. Hard to argue that as a reason to nerf. Nerfs may still be needed, but clearly other races very capable of competing for great caps / early game resources. Also good to note: future great captains, if the mechanic even persists into new games, may not be tied to buildings.

The primary bottleneck on construction is GB (and RP for shrine/build slots). You have to be rich before you can worry about resource requirements.

Elves and Karamhuls have more difficulty in ruling their favoured terrain than the other races. Karamhul have movement of 1 for all units which is a huge drawback. You can never attack with Karamhuls outside the mountains unless you go by ship. I think Elves are the most powerfull because of their speed bonus, scouting ability on all units and they can build buildings with wood.

How do you figure that?

You can build nothing without resources, and all the money in the world.

Resources are easier to get. You can secure a supply of resources permanently by creating a trade route, or obtain enough to build a building with a single raid action. You can't get enough GB to build a building with a single action, except under extremely rare circumstances, and it takes many, many, many actions to obtain enough 'permanent' income to build a building every turn.

Incorrect. You cannot secure a supply of resources permanently by creating a trade route.

You have to have access to a stone producing province AND a Wood Producing province
You have to have settled both of these provinces twice, after having spent 2 explore action (likely 5-10 based on luck)
While your roads are being built, you can spend 2-3 actions getting the required guilds

And now that you meet the pre-requisite for even attempting a trade route, having ignored completely your law, temple, and sources which puts you in a crap spot considering you get no RP from guilds as a non rogue.

That's why teamwork usually works best.

Yes, but these are all things you'd be looking to do anyway, and they're also ways to get GBs.

If I were in a hurry to build things, I would start by settling a province that already has one of the two resources I want. You don't have to make a grain or iron province your capital if establishing a second trade route early on is too much of a burden.

It's still harder to get GB than resources. And I don't see anyone complaining that guilders can get resources slightly more easily since they also obtain RP from guilds. Or that wizards and law regents struggle because they don't get GB from their holding types. Or that temple regents have obtaining GB easy because they can use Bless.

There are so many more important factors, no wonder dwarves and elves don't get all the buildings.

Incorrect. As a non rogue, I was not looking at handling guild matters.

An as these are ways to get GBs, and occur before Trade routes are even possible, it would seem that GBs are more readily available for those buildings long before resources become a concern (opposite your assertion)
