Yeah, I don't thiink regents should always have stealth whether they're resolving or counter-resolving... But, only the Regent Site spell allows you to catch them in the act.

I think it might be too much to keep track of, but it would be nice if there was regency loss for resolving adventures in (foreign) provinces that are more than one alignment step away from your own, and for counter-resolving those which are within one step of your own. Wouldn't really solve any problems, but it would make moral considerations relevant to adventuring.

Why? A LG paladin shouldn't have any qualms with routing out a growing undead threat, just cause it starts in a region full of cruel hedonists. Likewise, why would a tyrant care if his pursuit of a great treasure, also helps a hippie commune, as long as he gets power he seeks?

Why?

If you're LG, why should it be a regency loss to go stop a necromancer or a vampire coven just because the people living in that province have, in general, a different view of morality than you?

It is within DM discretion to question how any choice (including how one does or does not resolve an adventure) fits with your alignment and, if there's not a good answer, invoking regency loss ... but I don't see why the adventure location's province alignment should determine that.

edit: too slow again, essentially what AP said

For this particular game, at least some events could be aligned with the planet or life entities. Helping an event fail rather than be successfully resolved could be a way to influence the balance of power between the two entities. The Underground/Undead event, for example, could be the planet-force off pursuing some mysterious goal which, if successful, gives it an advantage relative to the life-entity.

What counts as a threat to the regent's authority will be different depending on who rules there. In the Gorgon's lands, he's more likely to have heroic bandits to squash than villainous ones. But, yeah, there's no rule that says threats have to be of an opposing alignment, it's just more likely than not.

So if it gets to -100% a captain event could trigger correct? Will the originating adventure then be still there?

It will still be there, but you will not be able to negatively impact it anymore.

So the adventure needs to be solved still? The advancing effect is another happening?

Yes, and it will spit out events each turn it is not resolved.
