Wasn't it Arawn who was saying the Hegemony was going to destroy us all? I don't remember the Architect mentioning it.

(I'm not convinced we didn't do something to deserve it, though.)

Yeah Arawn said it a lot when he wanted something from someone.

She didn't say it to elves, because she didn't trust them (she saw them as potential/likely 5th column), but the whole point of focusing on building a human Empire with Gaelin as an Emperor was to build a war machine to resist and fight against the Hegemony, which she saw as the most likely threat to human survival.

Arawn's apparent paranoia about the Hegemony was why she trusted him as much as she did. Anyone who hated the Hegemony as much as she did was likely a good person. Also, the whole feud between Shireen and Daene was because she murdered a bunch of Hegemony elf prisoners in cold blood because she thought letting them live and potentially bring information about humans back to their empire was too much of a risk.

I have not seen any back story written down yet... Just that there is an ice age occurring which forced us all to flee to the equatorial region. I do not believe any of us know why the ice age is happening. That is a gem of a plot for the DM to flesh out.

I have been putting together a back story for my people that I was going to send to Juan to see if it could fit with his plot. Or made up things that people use to explain magic that they do not understand.

the Second main adventure the Lords Black & Gold said that it was the nature of Hegemony to seek to conquer the refugee realms if their wars were ended.

I'd take that with a grain of salt, but I am sure that this campaign proposal was that we are fleeing their rise to dominance.

I am writing my background as if that what happened.

Juan had indicated we are fleeing the Hegemony, particularly for those playing descendants of previous characters/realms in the Diaspora game. He's also indicated the 'ice age'. He has not indicated the two events (flight and ice age) are related (we are free to draw all the assumptions we want on that).

This isn't the equatorial region. Southern Anuire, even Mieres, are all subtropical. The equator ran through Arndir's, New Mieres, and the Architect's lands in Aduria, with Polska and Olavik being in the southern hemisphere's subtropical zone, and the northernmost part of the map actually being a bit further north than Southern Anuire. The halflings, for example, would have migrated almost due east. So it's not the climate that forced the relocation.

Damn elves, making it hard to stand against the Architect! LOL
Just because she was right about everything doesn't mean you have to agree with her. You are allowed to persist in your error... ;)
Was she right? Or did her actions cause things to come out that way when left to natural order they would have come out much differently?

IC: that's a legitimate question/heresy that no lawful priest of any lawful priesthood would dare suggest.

OOC: it was all Rhyel's fault. He said in one of the "spill the beans" threads that he chose to ascend alongside the Architect so that nobody would know for sure if it was his fault or the Architect's.
