What if the unit is charmed?

Include a Bard in your group to use counter song.

Then I guess you have to save vs charm, and/or it is considered a survival check - since the unit suddenly tries to kill you lol

Or you can just go with the flow, and start fighting your own allies. Adaptability is key!

I'd like to see this, it adds a motivation to train elite troops, and a regent's death in battle is a great way to shake things up.

It's a bit tricky with summoned units, though. What if they're dispelled during a battle?

Yup, agreed. Makes raising Elite units instead of a flood of levies important.

I'd probably go with dispel = check as well, just because you are suddenly bereft of allies around you, and probably out of position, etc.

Leadership Risk:

Heroes have to be attached to a unit to have an impact on the battlefield. They have to make a survival check every time their unit is destroyed.
I like the adventurer card from the basic rules.

But we'd have to tweak it a bit.

Like maybe cleric levels/3 = +defense
fighter levels/3 = +attack
wizard levels /2 = +ranged
magician levels/4 = + ranged
Rogue/Guilder levels /5 = +attack
Highest level/3 = hits

So, a Wizard 10, Rogue 11, Fighter 9, Cleric 8 party would be a warcard with 3 hits
+2 defense, +5 attack, +5 ranged / +1/+4/+4/ +0/+3/+3 DEAD

Each time the unit you're with dies your adventurer card loses a hit.

That is how the original game played it more or less, but I think the standard card was +2/+2/+2 +1/+1/+1 2 hits.

Hmmmm. I will check what BirBattle does. I can attach leaders to units, will check tonight what that actually does to the unit.

I kind of like our DC adventure system, although i'm not clear on if we get non-magical loot from war adventures.
