I like the idea of Warding having no impact on any realm spell (Priest or Wizard), and at most 50% fail rate for any other Source related actions by a blooded wizard.

Contingency Dispel with your Source there before you lose it. Prevent them creating the Source in the first place. Prevent them creating the Leyline. Sunder Ley Line in the adjacent or casting Province. Assassinate the casting Wizard. Destroy their source Source so that the Wards have no Source 5 attached. If you own Mithril and have a local army - occupy the province and burn out their source...
Now let's say it is a province with a Source 5, no ley line powering it. You have no army in it. You have no source in it. Caster lives there and it's their capital.

Once the spell has been cast, no one can ever remove it.

They are immune to assassination. They are immune to contest (since you can't create a source). They are immune to having it burnt down, prevented, or anything else with the rule as written.

It is clearly broken and needs to be corrected.

Warding did not sever trade routes in flight. Unseelie hit multiple provinces I had holdings in, trade routes remained.

If they decide to permanently hide in their province and never create a holding outside of it - sure. That's really boring - but if that's what you want to do.

You can cast Regent site and if that wizard ever happens to wander through your source-network you ambush and kill them. If they dare create holdings outside their warded-capital you burn them down and cause blood loss. Or again - Regent Site to see them doing it and ditto.

Warding does not destroy trade routes. It removes their income.

Additionally, as there is supposed to be no trade, resources can't enter the area, so buildings should not be able to be crafted. Troops can't be trained, etc.

Barring if Sidhelien or Karamuhl building rule would apply for the province in question. And can of course train troops with whatever base resource the province provides.

No trade brings resources to (or from) a warded province, that is correct. They only have access to local materials.

So a mage creates a lvl 0 source each in your capital and a ley line then casts ward on the province and no dispel is used in contingency you are screwed? The mages will contest your source away rule their sources and you will never be able to get your captial back unless you are a wizard or your LT is a wizards that can burn down the source with troops? If ward does work this way it is just stupid. The Wizard can then summon units to burn down the province. There should be a way to negate a ward from the outside.

This bug was introduced after last game, when creating ley lines into a province where you control no source was blocked. The easy fix, without undoing that change, is to make it so sources can be created by anyone in warded provinces.

There are spells that can work across province borders, so Warding wouldn't provide total immunity, anyway. Even if the person inside could afford to maintain it indefinitely, somehow, which is improbable.

Your example is just implausible MM- you can always burn down sources in your province as regent- nothing a wizard can do against it and the ward will afterwards break down- but from the outside a ward should be as in original BR rule- only breakable by a wizard,

Incorrect, you have to be a wizard or have a wizard with you. Magician LTs don't count as they are Unblooded.
